Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Develop Quality Assurance and Sanitation programs minimizing Lofthouse risk from all regulatory agencies
Establish a program to inspect all incoming raw materials
Analyze all raw materials specifications and recommend changes to insure the production of a consistent, unadulterated product.
Establish kosher certification system to insure all ingredients comply with specific rabbinical requirements.
Establish operating and capital budgets for sanitation and quality.
Develop consumer complaint systematic procedural check and meetings
Develop HACCP and SPC systems
Establish specific, targeted, and acceptable quality check ranges
Maintain a harmonious relationship with peers and subordinates.
Check Quality reports from previous days run
Address hold or scrap issues
Check inbound reports from in spec.
Coordinate rounds with auditors
Address issues with production
Inspect team – walk throughs
Check labeling from ingredients listing against what is running
Ensure allergen clean ups
Responsible for food quality, food safety and food defense.
In the event of their absence the responsibility is delegated to the SR. Quality Specialist.
Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand all the operations of the production lines.
Understand all GMP’s and see that they are followed.
Make all required quality tests and see that manufacturing to see that product specifications are followed.
Customer complaints
Working Relationship:
- Works with production, warehouse, R & D, QA, Sanitation, maintenance, and HR and outside regulatory agencies.
Supervision :
- Supervises Sr. Quality Specialist, QA technologists, QA Technicians
Physical Demands :
Able to travel
Good eye sight and hearing.
Ability to enter information into computer
Qualifications /Education/Experience/Skills
Education : BS in Food Science or related field
Experience :
8 years’ experience in food industry.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications (word, excel, and power point)
Good verbal and written communication skills
